After much consideration & negotiation the Koh Group, the boutique restaurant group behind the South Coast’s most infamous Beach Pop Up, have decided to take a break from the alfresco dining experience on Bournemouth’s sandy shores in favour of the expansion of their core business.
“To ensure that we continue to give the very best experience and due to increased commitments of the core estate we felt that the mammoth task to operate Koh Lounge was too great this year. With strict compliance procedures enforced by local authority and high pitch fees we had to make the tough decision not to appear on the beach this summer” Said Andrew Lennox, KTT, CEO.
The Nikki Beach, and Club 55 inspired Lounge has been an almighty success in Bournemouth for the past 3 years and Lounge have been inundated with Booking Enquiries for August 2016.
“… 2016 was always going to be a year of considerable growth for the core restaurant business and due to the latest openings and those in the pipeline we were unable to turn our attentions to the events arm of the company this summer. It is with regret that we were unable to facilitate Lounge this year as it is something which we & all staff involved have tirelessly built upon year on year and is something which we have an immense feeling of nostalgia about. It has become one of Bournemouth’s Summer spectacles and we know that it will be missed”.
In 2016 KTT have added an additional 3 sites to their portfolio with yet another in the pipeline for December 16 taking their acquisition status into double figures.
“The focus has been on the internal infrastructure of the business this year and ensuring it’s readiness for the next stage of expansion has been vital.”
The Events arm of KTT’s business exploded in 2015 with the creation of a 3 week Pop Up residency on Bournemouth Beach, seeing thousands of guests through it’s doors and becoming one of the UK’s most prolific beach hospitality offerings. Koh Lounge boasts the Complete Dining Experience ethos exactly as any of the permanent sites within the company. The staff, atmosphere, decor, food and service are as would be expected from any KTT establishment and this is what made Koh Lounge such a memorable event.
“Whilst we are sad not to be holding Koh Lounge on the Beach this year, we are in awe of it’s supporters and the amount of requests that we have had for its return in 2016. I have absolutely no doubt that we will only take a single summer sabbatical and fully intend to return in full force next year”.
